The Elgin Youth Development Group was established in 1998 with the vision of providing a safe haven, a social space and personal development opportunities for young people from all social, economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds in the local area.

inkwell @eycOver the last seventeen years, we have grown, and we now operate the Elgin Youth Cafe, a social enterprise called The Inkwell, and the Inkwell Community Kitchen.

If you would like to have a look around from the comfort of your armchair, we are on Google Street View – Virtual Tour

Elgin Youth Cafe

The name is a bit of a give-away, but the venue is a hub from which project based youth work engages with many of the young people of the area.  We have open drop-in nights but the bulk of our work is done through projects.

The Inkwell

This social enterprise provides venue hire and catering for many of the local organisations and groups at a competitive rate. In addition the new community kitchen is a venue for hire that groups can use to do their own catering workshops.

The Community Kitchen

Behind the Inkwell we have a fantastic teaching kitchen where we run Cooking and Baking workshops that are open to a wide group of people.

Supporting the project

All of the money needed to run the projects is either raised locally or by grant applications.   We are not part of any statutory organisation although we do work quite closely with the schools and Moray Council. If you would like to support the work of the Elgin Youth Cafe and its associated projects please contact us or click on the link below… or send your donation via PayPal to neil@elginyouthcafe.org
