Africa 2017

Our young people have adopted (sponsor) a child from a project in South Africa. Rodney attends the Melkbos Care Centre and our relationship with him is the first part of what we hope will become an exchange programme.Rodney

The Melkbos Care Centre is a registered non-profit care facility for children. The Centre is not government funded or subsidised and relies solely on the donations of individuals, companies and organisations to provide the care free of charge to these underprivileged children. We are a registered NPO, with PBO status and we are also registered with the Dept. of Social Services (SA). We provide our services to orphaned and underprivileged children, many of whom live in homes affected by HIV Aids and substance abuse. Our services are a life line to many of the children who attend the Centre, whose parents/guardians are unable or unwilling to provide for the needs of their children.

Picture2Over the next few months we (EYC) will be planning and fundraising to strengthen our relationship with the project.  We are hoping to send two of our young people to visit the centre on a work placement.  If you would be interested in supporting this trip please give us a call…

Mr T was able to visit the centre during the summer holidays and what follows is a compilation of his photos from the visit.

More details will be posted as they are available; we will also post updates on twitter with the hashtag #melkbos2017

This is the culmination of a sponsored climb to the top of Ben Rinnes recently.
