Welcome

We are Elgin Youth Development Group. We were established in 1998 in response to the fact that young people did not have a place to meet and socialise.  We provide a café space that is at the heart of the various programmes and projects we offer young people in Moray.

The role of our organisation has changed over time and in line with the evolving needs of our young people.  We have been recognised for the outstanding work we do including the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, Healthy Living Award, numerous Moray Young Citizen Awards in both the group and individual categories and most recently we were awarded the YouthLink Scotland Community Based Youth Work Project of the Year 2019.

To support the work we do, we run a social enterprise, called The Inkwell that hires out meeting rooms and a kitchen space as well as offering catering services.  The addition of the Inkwell allows us to offer a supportive workplace to young people who face barriers to accessing employment.

I am so thankful for the Youth Cafe because without the amazing staff I wouldn’t be who I am today. If you are interested in volunteering, the youth cafe is an amazing place to do it. There are so many amazing opportunities!
