Hours: To be agreed but could be part time/full time/sessional (Evenings & Weekend availability essential)
Salary Range: £26k to 28K (dependent on experience)
This is a funded, 3-year post.

-About Our Organisation
The Elgin Youth Development Group provides a safe and inclusive space where 11–18-year-olds socialise, access support and opportunities through community based, universal youth work provision. This includes drop-in sessions, holiday programmes and targeted group sessions based on the needs of young people.
The Project
In the face of increased anti-social behaviour in Moray, we are launching a new youth work project, CashBack @ The Warehouse, which will take an early intervention and preventative approach. This project is funded by CashBack for Communities and is part of a national partnership that will strengthen community connections and create positive opportunities for young people.
The goal is to combat boredom, frustration and isolation through diversionary activities. The project will target young people who are at risk of becoming involved or who are impacted by anti-social behaviour. We will offer a variety of free sessions and activities where young people can have fun, socialise and feel valued. Youth workers will be on hand to encourage and support young people to channel their energy into positive actions.
Outreach activities will be at the heart of this project. We plan to extend our outreach provision and will include visits to schools, P7 transition work, pop-ups in public spaces and collaborative ventures with local groups that share a mission of supporting young people to become valued members of their community. The project aims to expand our current provision and engage with more young people and partners.
The Role
We are looking for experienced youth workers or those with experience in social work, criminal justice or education to help develop and deliver this new outreach project. We are looking for creative and committed individuals who are passionate about inspiring young people to reach their full potential. Successful candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends and during school holidays when the provision will be delivered.
As part of our team you will develop, plan and coordinate a range of programmes and activities for young people of secondary age to socialise, access opportunities and grow in skill and confidence. This may include day trips, weekend sessions and drop-in activities. You will help create a safe and positive environment where young people are actively involved in shaping what we do and how we deliver it.
You will work with young people currently engaging with the project as well as working away from the building, speaking to young people, supporting them and encouraging them to attend The Warehouse @ EYC. You will support young people by listening and guiding them on issues that they face and by encouraging them to make positive choices. You will also plan and coordinate pop-up youth activities in schools and in other places that do not have youth work coverage.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- Experience in youth work, social work, criminal justice, education or other youth-centred sectors
- Experience of working with young people aged 11-18 years
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour
- Experience of working with young people in an outreach environment
- Experience of delivering and facilitating activities and projects for young people for example; sports, youth voice, cooking)
- Experience of working with young people from different backgrounds and with varying needs
- Experience in building relationships with young people, partners and stakeholders
- Confidence in leading a variety of activities, including group work and 1-1 sessions.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- A valid UK driving license
